Welcome to The Scheele Symposium in honor of the 2017 Scheele Award Laureate Professor Charles L. Sawyers. The symposium focuses on different aspects of his research, including insights into the molecular mechanisms that cause tumor resistance to cancer drugs which have paved the way for the development of new, effective treatments. These drugs have led to increased survival for many patients.
